Detling 2010: Rise, Run, Reign with RT Kendal

'Those who wait upon Got get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind.'

We were drawn almost irresistibly to these three words as our theme for 2010. Surely this is the call of God upon our lives - to rise above the circumstances that seek to drag us down, to soar on the thermals of God's Holy Spirit, to run with eagerness towards the purposes of God for our lives anticipating that the future is going to be the best that it could be, to walk with the stately tread of those who know they are to reign in life through Jesus Christ.

If you are feeling tired and think you just can't cope with all that, look at these words in the verses prior to those above 'He energises those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall.' The energy of youth is wonderful but it has its limits. Only the energy of the most High God is limitless and we have access to that limitless power, which means that Rise, Run, Reign will be an amazing conference.

MORNING BIBLE STUDY SESSIONS

RT Kendall returns to lead our bible study sessions by launching on the Sunday with Isaiah 40:31 and 64:4, talking about ‘waiting on the Lord’ and will be speaking about Joseph across the morning bible study sessions.

SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS

We have a number of seminars running at Detling 2010. Covering a wide range of subjects, there is something for everyone.

EVENING PROGRAMME

We have an exciting range of speakers lined up for Detling 2010. Every evening, the speaker will be unpacking the theme for the day and offering solid biblical teaching.

KENT PAVILION

The main event starts at 6.30pm in the Kent Pavilion. As children aged under 5 are not allowed in the main venue during the evening sessions, for families and those with young children, there will be a live TV feed running simultaneously in the Restaurant, with special guest hosts. This will start 10 minutes earlier at 6.20pm.

Saturday:
The Rt Revd Bishop Trevor Wilmot will be opening the event and Eric Delve will be starting our teaching programme looking at being ‘Unlimited’.

Sunday:
Andy Hawthorne from The Message Trust will be leading our second evening celebration, expanding more on being ‘Attractive’.

Monday:
Debra Green from Redeeming our Communities and Ivy Manchester will be looking at ‘Reconciling’ on our third night together.

Tuesday:
Patrick Regan from the urban youth charity, XLP explores being ‘Fearless’ in our time.

Wednesday:
We welcome Canon Andrew White, the Vicar of Baghdad to look at being ‘Generous’ on our penultimate night.

Thursday:
On the final night, Gerard Kelly from the Bless Network explores being ‘Visionary’ and will be sending us out into the world encouraged to Rise, Run and Reign.
